Woman pleads no contest in horse cruelty case (KTVN Reno)

LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) - An Antelope Valley horse rescue manager has pleaded no contest to two felony counts of animal cruelty. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office says Janis Damiani was sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison after entering the plea Monday.

Horse Sanctuary Owner Gets Jail Time For Abuse (CBS 2 Los Angeles)

A Lancaster woman was immediately sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison Monday after she pleaded no contest to animal cruelty charges. The charges stemmed from a dog and a horse that had to be put down after Animal Control officers found the animals in complete neglect.
